Organizational Structure
Status Energy is a partnership between C.E.O. Shane Smith and Horse Lake First Nation. Smith holds a majority stake and Horse Lake First Nation a minority stake. Their goal is to provide long-term economic stability for Horse Lake First Nation.
History
Since 2006, Status Energy has served oil and gas producers in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
In 2014, Horse Lake Investment Management Board bought McAdie Ventures. To reflect its First Nations origins the company changed its name to Status Energy.
Horse Lake First Nation sold a majority stake in the company to C.E.O. Shane Smith in 2017. By securing Smith, the company looks forward to continuing its success.
